Canopy Imaging Opens New State-of-the-Art Clinic in Ahuriri

Canopy Healthcare is proud to announce the opening of its newest Canopy Imaging clinic in the heart of Ahuriri, bringing advanced diagnostic imaging services closer to the communities of Napier and surrounding areas.  The new clinic offers MRI, breast imaging, and ultrasound services, with CT imaging set to launch in early 2026. This expansion means many patients will no longer need to travel to Hastings for essential imaging procedures, saving time and improving access to care.

Designed with the community in mind, the clinic features thoughtful nods to Napier’s iconic art deco architecture, with extra-high ceilings, and a calming non-clinical interior to help reduce patient anxiety. The layout also ensures privacy and smooth patient flow, creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all.

“We wanted this space to feel familiar and comforting,” said Michelle Dibley, Canopy Imaging Service Manager. “The art deco design isn’t just aesthetic, it’s a connection to Napier’s identity and a way to make patients feel more at ease. And it’s a great talking point.”

Located within walking distance of two popular cafés, the clinic offers convenience and comfort.  With ample parking and a central location, many residents are now just a five-minute drive from high-quality imaging services.

Over a third of Hawke’s Bay’s population lives in Napier or Wairoa, and until now, many had to travel long distances for MRI and other imaging services. With the opening of the Ahuriri clinic, mammography services will transition from our Greenmeadows clinic, offering better access and improved facilities.

The clinic was developed with support from local iwi, who provided cultural guidance and blessed the site. This collaboration reflects Canopy Imaging’s commitment to respectful, inclusive care.

Early patient feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with one visitor noting, “Love the space! Quiet and private.”
