About
Following his radiology specialist training, Dr. Thomas spent two years as a general radiologist in Perth, Australia, before moving to Palmerston North.

Dr. Thomas worked in Palmerston North as a general and breast radiologist 1989 to 2021. He was the Clinical Director BreastScreen Coast to Coast 1999-2021.  

Started work for Canopy Imaging in 2021, doing general radiology and breast imaging. Due to his dual expertise in breast imaging and clinical IT, he started work as the Radiologist SME (Subject Matter Expert) on the BreastScreen IT replacement project in the same year.

He continues to be one of the two “Lead Examiners” for Breast Imaging for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, serving on the CROERP committee, and serves on a number of BreastScreen committees for Te Whatu Ora/Health NZ.
