About
Dr. Charlotte De Wilde, originally from Bruges, Belgium, completed her medical degree and
radiology residency at Ghent University. Her residency comprised of 3.5 years of training at Ghent
University Hospital and 1.5 years in East and South Africa, where she trained at Makerere
University and Stellenbosch University tertiary hospitals. After qualifying as a specialist
radiologist, she gained experience as a general and breast radiologist at a teaching hospital in the
Dutch Antilles throughout 2021, before relocating to New Zealand in early 2022 to join Canopy
Imaging.

Dr. De Wilde obtained the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) in 2020 and was selected by the
European Board of Radiology (EBR) as one of the best-performing EDiR candidates in 2020 to
form part of the “EDiR Holders” team.

She has been an Educational Affiliate of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of
Radiologists (RANZCR) since 2022.

Her primary focus and passion is breast imaging, comprising the majority of her workload and
encompassing screening, multimodality diagnostic workups, and interventions. Dr. De Wilde is
actively involved in the Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Breast Cancer
Multidisciplinary Meeting (MDM).

In addition to this, Dr. De Wilde has strong interests in body/oncological and musculoskeletal
imaging.
